What is the Inner Circle, exactly?

The Inner Circle is a monthly membership built to get GCSE physics students the marks they're capable of. You get a weekly live physics deep-dive, a weekly drop-in clinic for questions,  every one of my holiday masterclasses, and full access to The Bank— my library of notes, videos, walkthroughs and practice questions. Live each week, on-demand whenever you need it.

How long is the membership for?

It's billed monthly and you cancel whenever you like. Most students stay until their exams are done, but there's no lock-in and no minimum term. Stay as long as it's helping, leave the moment it isn't.

Is this suitable for students with SEN or learning difficulties?

Accepted Answer

Every student is different, so I won't pretend one answer covers everyone. What I will say is that a lot of students who find normal lessons hard get on well with the format. The videos are short, you can slow them down or speed them up, replay anything, and take as many breaks as you need. That's exactly why there's a free trial. Try it, and if it isn't the right fit for your child, cancel and pay nothing.

What if my child can't make the live sessions?

Accepted Answer

No problem. Every live session is recorded and added to the Inner Circle members' area, usually within 24 hours. Your child can watch or rewatch any time, which works well around a busy week or in the run-up to exams. The recordings live in the members' area alongside the rest of the resources.

What year group is this for?

Accepted Answer

GCSE  physics, so roughly Year 9 through to Year 11. Younger students starting GCSE content early get plenty out of it too. It really depends on the student, which is what the free trial is for. Try it, and if they're not quite ready, cancel free of charge.

What's the difference between this and just hiring a tutor?

Accepted Answer

It's a fraction of the cost of one-to-one, for a start. It's also more flexible. Students work at a time that suits them, for as long as they want, and engage as much or as little as they like. Some ask questions in every session, some prefer to watch quietly, and some learn best from the replays in short bursts. You're not paying for an hour a week, you're getting the live sessions, the clinics, the workshops and the whole resource library.

Will my child actually turn up?

The sessions are built to be useful and worth showing up for, not a lecture. But physics isn't always top of a teenager's list, so everything is recorded and available on demand. If they miss one, or fancy watching it back, it's there.

Will parents get reminders?

Yes. Both you and your child get an email with the week's sessions and the Zoom links, so it's all in one place.

What if my child doesn't have time for extra work on top of school?

Accepted Answer

The membership is flexible by design and fits around a full schedule. Nobody has to attend everything. Come to what you can, watch the rest back when it suits, and catch up properly over half-terms and holidays when there's more breathing room.

Is this suitable for all abilities?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I teach to push students toward the top grades, but the way it's structured means you can take it at your own pace, slow the videos down, replay anything, and build up. The sessions are streamed by grade and pupils can move freely between them until they find a pace that best suits their current level of understanding. Whether your child is aiming for a pass or lock in a grade 9, there's something here for them.

What exam boards do you cover?

The sessions are built around AQA and Edexcel past paper questions, and work just as well whether your child is doing combined or separate science. On a different board like OCR? The physics is almost identical, so you'll still get plenty out of the sessions and the resources.

How do the live sessions work?

Accepted Answer

They run on Zoom each week, focused on a section of a paper, the exam technique around it, and the strategy that actually wins marks. Students can join live, ask questions privately and get answers in real time. I have cameras and mics off to create an anxiety free learning environment.  Can't make it? The replay is always there.

What if my child hates physics?

You're in good company. A lot of students arrive with no confidence, or actively dreading it. The whole point of the membership is to turn that around with small wins, plain explanations and a focus on exam strategy rather than piling on more theory. Most of the time it's not that they can't do physics, it's that nobody's shown them how to show it in an exam.

What if my child is already doing well?

Even strong students leave marks on the table through exam technique, not knowledge. Sharper strategy, smarter ways into the hard questions and steady support help them protect a grade 9 instead of hoping for it. There's plenty here to stretch the students who are already ahead.

What if we don't live in the UK?

That's completely fine, students are welcome from anywhere. Just note that all the resources follow the UK exam boards , and live session times are UK time.
